Small-part finishing for factories in the Praksa belt

Praksa is a belt, not a fence. A lot of what it sends us is not a new part at all — it is a part that already exists and now has to reach a specification it was not bought at.

We run one plant, and it is in Samut Sakhon. This page covers collection and delivery for customers in Samut Prakan — it is not a branch or a facility in Samut Prakan.

IEAT-designated covers both estates operated by the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand and joint-operation estates run with a private developer. A dash means we could not confirm a single status for the whole area — some of these names describe a factory district rather than one designated estate.

A dash in the port row means the estate sits inland between two ports and we will not guess which is nearer. Nothing on this page is a distance, a drive time or a delivery-time promise.

What this estate is

Phraeksa and Phraeksa Mai are subdistricts of Mueang Samut Prakan, and Praksa Road leaves Sukhumvit Road near the district town and runs inland with factory plots along it. There is an IEAT joint-operation estate inside this area, but most of the belt is privately developed ground, which is why the IEAT row on this page is blank — one yes or no would be wrong for a large part of it. The character is older and denser than the master-planned estates further east: independent metalworking, machining and assembly shops, often at a scale where the whole company fits on one plot, and often working to a specification that arrived with the order rather than one they wrote.

What this estate asks of a small part

Because the belt is old, a large share of the work here is about parts with a history. A catalogue bolt bought at one property class that a customer now wants at a higher one. A lot that came back because the hardness landed outside the band. A batch that has to be stripped and re-plated after a coating was rejected. All three are possible and none of them are free. Re-hardening a part that has been hardened before is governed by what the first cycle already did to it: any decarburised skin from that cycle does not grow back, and if the part was cold-formed after hardening, the story is different again. A stripped part starts its new coating from a surface that has already been etched once, which is not the same starting point as bare stock. So the first thing we ask for is the part and its material designation, not a photograph — and the answer sometimes is that the part cannot get where you want it to go.

Part types we run for this estate

Every part type below has its own page. The ones named in the glance table are the ones this estate’s industry mix calls for most — the rest we still run.

End markets on this estate

Each end market has its own spec drivers — property classes, salt-spray hours, governing standards.

Corridor, port and collection

The belt hangs off Sukhumvit Road, which is why the corridor row names Highway 3: Praksa Road branches from it inside Mueang Samut Prakan and the plots follow the branch. The nearest sea port by geography is Bangkok Port at Khlong Toei. Praksa and our plant sit on opposite sides of the river mouth on the same side of the Gulf, so work moves by the outer ring and the Rama II corridor. We arrange collection and delivery per lot, confirm the run with sales when the job is booked, and do not publish transit times.

Questions we get from this estate

There is a plating shop a few streets away. Why would we send parts further?+

For a plain barrel of zinc on an undemanding part, that is a fair argument and we will not pretend otherwise. Send it to us when the part has to be hardened and coated as one route with one record; when the property class or the hardness crosses the ISO 4042 threshold and the relief bake has to follow the plating properly; or when your customer wants a test record tied to the lot rather than a general assurance. Those are the cases where the trip is buying you something.

Can you re-harden parts that have already been through a furnace, or re-plate a rejected lot?+

Often yes, but only after we know what was done the first time. Tell us the material designation, what the previous route was and why the lot was rejected. Decarburisation from an earlier cycle is permanent, a part that has been stripped is starting from an etched surface, and both change what the second route can achieve. We will tell you what is realistic before the lot is booked, not after.

Can we get a hardness report for each lot?+

Yes. Testing is done in our own lab under our ISO 9001:2015 quality system, and the record describes what was measured on that lot — the method, the points and the results — rather than repeating a generic sentence about our process. If your customer needs a particular test method or sampling rule, say which one at quotation so it is planned in rather than added afterwards.
