Small-part finishing for factories in Laem Chabang Industrial Estate

Laem Chabang is the one estate on this list defined by a port. Everything that follows from that — export lots, coastal air, documentation that has to satisfy someone abroad — lands on the parts.

We run one plant, and it is in Samut Sakhon. This page covers collection and delivery for customers in Chon Buri — it is not a branch or a facility in Chon Buri.

IEAT-designated covers both estates operated by the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand and joint-operation estates run with a private developer. A dash means we could not confirm a single status for the whole area — some of these names describe a factory district rather than one designated estate.

A dash in the port row means the estate sits inland between two ports and we will not guess which is nearer. Nothing on this page is a distance, a drive time or a delivery-time promise.

What this estate is

Laem Chabang is operated directly by the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand, sits on the Sukhumvit corridor with Motorway 7 running into it, and is inside the Eastern Economic Corridor. Its mix is automotive, metalworking and machinery, but its defining feature is the container port beside it: a high share of what is made here is packed for export, and export changes what a customer asks a finisher for.

What this estate asks of a small part

Two things dominate. The first is corrosion: coastal air and a long sea leg both attack the same surface, so a Cr3+ zinc system here is usually specified with a sealer and backed by a salt-spray requirement rather than a visual check. The second is evidence — an overseas customer cannot walk into the plant, so the lot has to carry a record that stands on its own. We test to ASTM B117 or ISO 9227 NSS as the drawing calls for, and we will not translate chamber hours into years of outdoor service, because that conversion does not exist.

By Part

Part types we run for this estate

Every part type below has its own page. The ones named in the glance table are the ones this estate’s industry mix calls for most — the rest we still run.

End markets on this estate

Each end market has its own spec drivers — property classes, salt-spray hours, governing standards.

Corridor, port and collection

The estate takes Motorway 7 and Sukhumvit Road, and its nearest sea port is Laem Chabang itself — the container terminal the estate is named after. Parts run to our Samut Sakhon plant along the motorway and the outer ring, and come back packed the way the export lot needs them. Tell us at quotation whether the parts are going into a container, because packing and rust prevention for a sea leg are not the same as for a local delivery.

Questions we get from this estate

How many salt-spray hours will our parts pass?+

We will not put a number on it before we test your part. Salt-spray life depends on the coating system, the thickness actually achieved on the geometry, whether a sealer is used and — most of all — on what your specification counts as failure: white corrosion, red rust, blistering or a percentage of affected area. Define the acceptance rule and we will test against it.

The parts sit in a container for weeks. What should we ask for?+

Say so at quotation. A sea leg is a humidity and condensation problem as much as a coating problem, so the answer is usually a combination — the plated system your drawing calls for, plus packing and rust prevention chosen for the transit. That part of the job is agreed per lot, not promised as a standard on a web page.
