Small-part finishing for factories in Gateway City Industrial Estate

Gateway City sits on Highway 331 in Plaeng Yao — an automotive estate with electronics beside it. Those two send very different work in the same week, and that is the problem this page is about.

We run one plant, and it is in Samut Sakhon. This page covers collection and delivery for customers in Chachoengsao — it is not a branch or a facility in Chachoengsao.

IEAT-designated covers both estates operated by the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand and joint-operation estates run with a private developer. A dash means we could not confirm a single status for the whole area — some of these names describe a factory district rather than one designated estate.

A dash in the port row means the estate sits inland between two ports and we will not guess which is nearer. Nothing on this page is a distance, a drive time or a delivery-time promise.

What this estate is

Gateway City is an IEAT joint-operation estate run with a private developer, on Highway 331 at Hua Samrong in Plaeng Yao district, Chachoengsao, inside the Eastern Economic Corridor. Its mix leads with vehicle assembly and automotive parts, then electronics, then general manufacturing. What separates it from the automotive estates down on the coast is that it is inland: Highway 331 carries freight south toward the eastern seaboard and it also turns back toward Bangkok. That is exactly why the port row on this page is blank.

What this estate asks of a small part

A single week from this estate can hold an automotive flange bolt and a small electronics screw, and they are governed by different things. On the automotive side it is the ISO 898-1 property class, hardness inside a band rather than above a floor, a salt-spray requirement, and embrittlement-relief baking once the class or the hardness crosses the ISO 4042 trigger. On the small-screw side the problem is not strength at all — it is coating thickness on the thread, because the thickness that suits an M10 bolt is what stops an M3 screw from gauging. ISO 4042 sets out how thread allowance is handled for plated fasteners; if the drawing gives us the thread tolerance class alongside the thickness you need, we can set the process so both land together. If it does not, we ask before we start rather than after.

Part types we run for this estate

Every part type below has its own page. The ones named in the glance table are the ones this estate’s industry mix calls for most — the rest we still run.

End markets on this estate

Each end market has its own spec drivers — property classes, salt-spray hours, governing standards.

Corridor, port and collection

The estate takes Highway 331, the inland eastern-seaboard road, and work reaches our Samut Sakhon plant along the trunk roads and the outer ring. The port row is genuinely empty: the estate lies inland between Bangkok Port and Laem Chabang and we have nothing that grounds which is nearer. For the finishing itself that changes nothing — but putting a guess into a table that looks authoritative changes a great deal. Collection and delivery are arranged per lot and confirmed with sales.

Questions we get from this estate

Why is the port row empty when we export through Laem Chabang?+

Because we cannot ground which port is actually nearer to this estate. Plaeng Yao is inland between Bangkok Port and Laem Chabang, and it is your forwarder who picks the port, not us. That choice does not change how we process the parts, but it does change how we pack them: if the lot will sit in a container across a sea leg, tell us at quotation so rust prevention for that leg is planned rather than assumed.

Our M3 screws will not gauge after plating. What do we change?+

Almost always it is coating thickness on the thread rather than a process fault. The deposit builds on the thread flanks and eats the allowance, which matters most on fine pitches and small diameters. ISO 4042 covers how thread allowance is treated on plated fasteners. Send a drawing that states the thread tolerance class and the thickness range you will accept, and we will tell you before the job starts whether the two are compatible.
