Cleanliness and surface condition
Oil, swarf, rust or forming residues directly affect how well the coating adheres.
We run a cleaning stage, but parts that arrive in good condition give a more uniform result.
Information to send with the job
- Material grade (e.g. S45C, SCM435) and current condition.
- The process wanted and target values (HRC, thickness in µm, colour, salt-spray hours).
- Tolerances/features to watch—threads or holes that must not bind.
- Quantity/weight and due date.
Tips to avoid problems
Tight-tolerance hardened parts should allow stock for distortion/grinding.
Fine threads that might bind: flag them so we control coating thickness.
Send a first article before full production to confirm the result before the big lot runs.
FAQ
Should I clean parts first?+
We clean them, but please remove heavy grime/unusual rust first for a uniform result.
Do I need to state the steel grade?+
Please do—it affects achievable hardness and process choice; if unknown, we can analyze it.
Can I get a sample first?+
Yes—a first article is recommended to confirm colour/thickness/hardness before the big lot.
